The Memorial Union staff may confront individuals who are demonstrating inappropriate behavior, whether the behavior is personally observed by staff members or if notification of the behavior is received as a complaint. Memorial Union staff includes full-time UND employees and student Building Managers.
Inappropriate behavior may be defined as (but not limited to):
- Disturbing or interfering with the programs or activities being conducted in the Memorial Union.
- Interfering with the free and unimpeded flow of pedestrian traffic within or outside the Memorial Union.
- Harassing, embarrassing, or intimidating other persons in the building (to include employees).
- Disturbing or interfering with employees performing their jobs.
-
Appears that the person has no legitimate reason to be on the campus or in the facility
If the Memorial Union staff observes or receives reports that individuals are demonstrating inappropriate behavior (as indicated above), the staff will (1) make the person aware of their behavior, and (2) advise them that if the behavior continues, the incident will be reported to the University Police Department and the Dean of Students Office.
The procedure to challenge individuals is stated in the Code of Student Life, paragraph 1-10 IDENTIFICATION OF PERSONS ON CAMPUS.
